Finally decided ♥

Here is my chosen design displayed on my blog and You Tube channel, I feel that this was the best combination out of my selection. I used colours in the flowers and used them to make the header, I chose the yellow because I felt that the colour stood out without making it look gaudy. ♥

First impressions ♥

Here are all of my variations applied to my blog and YouTube account so that I could see which ones looked best, to make sure that I made the right decision. ♥

An eye for design ♥

Here is the design for my header and background in a variation of colours so that I have more of a choice when it comes to the style of my blog.

Here are the names for my colour combinations: Strawberry shortcake, homemade apple pie, Peach Melba, Mint choc chip, Wild lavender, The deep blue sea, Apricot sundae, Lemon mellow, Raspberry jam, As the birds fly by and Parma violet. ♥
Strawberry shortcake: I feel that the contrast of the two colours is a classic however maybe too much for the look I am going for.
homemade apple pie: This colour combination is very vibrant and is a little to eccentric for me and I don’t think I will choose this design.
Peach Melba: This combination is made up of nice muted tones of plum and peach, they have a warm feel and work well together.
Mint choc chip: I feel that pastel shades of green and pink always work and give a nice effect when it comes to design, similar to the one I've created.
Wild lavender: I feel this works because the colours used are two different tones of the same hue however I feel that the darker purple is too bright.
The deep blue sea: I love it when bright blues and pinks are used together it just lights everything up and catches your eye.
Apricot sundae: seen as though blue and orange are complimentary colours I thought I would make a subtle combination, so that I had more variations to choose from I feel that this one works well.
*Lemon mellow: This has to be my favourite combination, the colours work well, everything stands out and I just love love love it.
Raspberry jam: Similar to the strawberry shortcake combination I feel that this works however isn't really the look I am going for.
As the birds fly by: I feel that the colours in the flowers really stand out against the background and the teal and pale blue work really well together.
Parma violet: I feel that the shades of blue and purple are two similar and sort of blend into one I feel the colours need to contrast more.

Websites aimed at different audiences ♥

We were asked to find a few website aimed at different age groups, here are the three I picked. The first is the cbeebies site which is aimed at children ages 2 and up, they use vibrant colours to stimulate the children and keep them interested and entertained. The second is the CBBC site which is aimed at tweens and teens, the colours are a bit toned down with a more grown up look so that it is age appropriate. The last website I chose was the Guardian's site which is aimed at young adults as well as the more mature reader, they are plain yet inviting with little bits of colour here and there this makes it easier on the eye. ♥

The elements of a web page. ♥

Here I analysed blogs and web sites so that I got a good idea of what the majority of websites include, in this post I have displayed my findings and used one of my favourite blogs to demonstrate where everything is positioned. ♥

Blogs Blogs Blogs ♥

Here is some research on some different blogs which include my thoughts, feelings and first impressions. I also discussed what works, is it corporate? And does it make you want to read on? ♥
